Classroom Teaching Full Job Description Job Overview:
The Children's House Montessori School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Guide and Floater for our After School Program to join our team. The Assistant Guide will play a vital role in supporting the educational and recreational activities of our After school program. If you have a passion for working with young children and creating a positive learning environment, we want to hear from you!Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance in implementing educational programs and activities for students enrolled in the after school program
- Support classroom management and assist teachers in daily tasks
- Utilize first aid skills when necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of students
- Engage students in various recreational activities such as facilitaing games, songs, and arts and crafts
- Assist with behavior management and provide guidance to students as needed using the Montessori method.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Contribute to the overall success of the school program by actively participating in team meetings and training sessions
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or students in a school, daycare, or similar setting strongly desired
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to educate and engage students in various activities
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques/willingness to learn Montessori Method of teaching
- CPR/First aid certification is preferred but not required (we will provide training for those who need it)
- Experience in sports coaching, theater, art, or babysitting is a plus This position is part time and hours are 1:30-5:30 M,W,F, 12:30-5:30pm Tu/Th (22 hours a week guarenteed
- Starting the Spring Semester (January) hours will expand to 11:30-5:30pm M-F (guarenteed 30 hours per week
