4:30 PM-6:30 PM Two days of programming at The Pointe at Ben White Two days of programming at Bridge at Cameron No Fridays or weekends About the Position IWRBR Consulting is seeking a creative, energetic, and dependable Recreation & Enrichment Instructor to design and facilitate engaging enrichment experiences for our Clubhouse Kids Afterschool Program across two Austin communities: The Pointe at Ben White and Bridge at Cameron . This position is focused on creating fun, hands-on experiences that give students opportunities to explore their interests, build new skills, work as a team, and have fun outside of the traditional classroom setting. The Recreation & Enrichment Instructor will help plan and lead a variety of sports, recreation, arts, STEM, creative, and enrichment activities for students in 1st through 8th grade . The ideal candidate is someone who can take an idea and turn it into an engaging activity that students are excited to participate in. This role will split time between both Austin locations, with two days of programming at each site. Key Responsibilities Plan and facilitate engaging recreation and enrichment activities for students in 1st through 8th grade . Develop themed activities and experiences incorporating sports, recreation, arts, STEM, creativity, and hands-on learning . Create weekly enrichment plans that are age-appropriate, engaging, and accessible to students with different interests and abilities. Lead sports and recreation activities such as team games, fitness challenges, skill-based activities, and cooperative games. Design and facilitate arts and creative activities including crafts, visual arts, creative projects, and other hands-on experiences. Develop STEM activities, experiments, challenges, building projects, and problem-solving activities that encourage curiosity and exploration. Incorporate themes, challenges, competitions, and special projects to keep students engaged throughout the program year. Modify activities as needed based on student age, ability, interest, group size, and available space or materials. Encourage teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, leadership, and positive peer interaction. Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment during all activities. Collaborate with the Clubhouse Leader and other program staff to coordinate daily programming. Help integrate enrichment activities with literacy, character development, healthy lifestyles, and other Clubhouse Kids programming. Prepare activity materials and spaces before students arrive. Maintain and organize enrichment supplies and equipment. Clean and reset activity spaces at the end of each program day. Monitor student participation and use positive behavior management strategies. Communicate professionally with IWRBR Consulting leadership, program staff, families, and community partners when appropriate. Travel between The Pointe at Ben White and Bridge at Cameron according to the weekly programming schedule. Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow all organizational safety policies and procedures. Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating creativity, enthusiasm, professionalism, and a commitment to youth development. Qualifications Experience working with children or youth in an afterschool program, summer camp, recreation program, school, childcare setting, or similar environment. Experience planning or leading sports, recreation, arts, STEM, or other enrichment activities is preferred. Strong creativity and the ability to develop engaging, hands-on activities. Ability to work effectively with students ranging from 1st through 8th grade . Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Energetic, dependable, adaptable, and comfortable working in an active youth environment. Ability to manage groups while maintaining a safe and positive environment. Ability to work at multiple program locations and adapt to different site environments. CPR and First Aid Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Must be at least 18 years old. Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
