Burkburnett Independent School District seeks a position for High School Teacher in Burkburnett, Texas.
Job duties:
Develop and implement lesson plans, such as Physical Education or Life Science, for high school students that fulfill the requirements of the districts curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in individual student differences. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned and present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations. Conduct an assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP). Coaches and instructs high school student players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport. Develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time for student players to provide individual and team development. Work with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements. Plan and assign work to instructional aide(s) and volunteer(s) and oversee completion. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Consistently assess student achievement through formal and informal assessments. Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students' physical, social, and emotional development. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and the student handbook. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
