Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the lead instructor for a designated age group, managing all instructional aspects of the classroom. Develop and deliver daily lesson plans and activities aligned with program goals. Prepare and organize necessary classroom materials and resources. Use effective and consistent behavior management strategies to maintain a safe, respectful environment. Provide academic support to students individually or in small groups, including reading, writing, spelling, homework help, and hands-on learning activities. Foster students' academic, social, and emotional development through structured learning and enrichment activities. Encourage and model positive habits, behaviors, and interpersonal skills. Supervise and actively participate in recreational and outdoor activities such as swimming, sports, and field trips. Collaborate with parents, volunteers, and team members to support student success. Complete a minimum of 25 hours of professional development or training annually. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (relevant experience required). Valid driver's license. Teacher Certification and/or two or more years of classroom or youth program experience preferred. Experience working with at-risk youth is highly desirable. Proven ability to engage and support children across grade levels (K-12). Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Willingness and ability to participate in outdoor and recreational activities with students. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and community members in a variety of settings.
