Compensation:
$12 - $14 hourly, negotiable based on education and experience Grace Community School is seeking a caring, energetic, and Christ-centered After School Program Teacher to serve Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten students in our elementary after-school program. This part-time position requires a nurturing spirit, a commitment to Grace Community School's mission and core values, and a joyful desire to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment where young children can thrive after the school day ends. Job Duties and Responsibilities Create a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment where students feel known, valued, and loved. Supervise students throughout the afternoon, including classroom pick-up, transitions, snack time, indoor activities, and playground time. Lead engaging crafts, games, and activities that encourage creativity, cooperation, and positive social development. Model Christlike character while guiding students in respectful behavior, healthy relationships, and peaceful conflict resolution. Actively engage with students while maintaining appropriate structure, behavior expectations, and safety. Communicate professionally with parents, teachers, and staff regarding student needs and program activities. Collaborate with team members to provide a positive, consistent, and high-quality experience for students. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program environment while following all school policies and procedures. Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and a joyful commitment to serving students and families. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience working with children in a classroom or childcare setting is a plus. Knowledge and Skills Understanding of early childhood development and Christian education principles. Strong teamwork and communication skills. A nurturing, dependable, and joyful presence who loves helping children grow in faith and learning. Qualifications Commitment to Grace Community School's mission, values, and biblical worldview. Experience working with young children in educational, childcare, church, camp, nanny, or after-school settings preferred. A genuine love for children and a passion for helping them grow socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Ability to engage actively with students while maintaining appropriate classroom structure and behavior expectations. Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to supervise and actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities with children ages 4-6. Physical Requirements / Work Conditions Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing, bending, and interaction at the child's level. Work performed in a classroom setting with moderate noise levels and exposure to common childhood illnesses. Position Details Part-time position (10-17 hours per week) Serves Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten students (ages 4-6) Average daily enrollment of approximately 10-12 students Time Commitment Varies — 12:30-5:30 PM and 2:30-5:30 PM - Monday through Friday only.
