iCode Coding Instructor Position Overview The instructor is passionate about both technology and education, and will inspire a love for learning in our students. They will get to know each student personally, encouraging and guiding them individually while innovating, collaborating, and creating with technology. Prior experience in education or coding is not required. Instructors will be responsible for learning the teaching material and testing projects before delivering lessons. Some classes involve no coding at all, while others use block-based coding platforms. Coding Instructors are responsible for creating a fun and engaging learning experience, helping students master various iCode programs. They deliver each instructional session while monitoring and supporting individual student progress. We hold classes at various partner schools throughout the Bellevue/Redmond area. Most classes begin after 3:00 PM and may run as late as 5:45 PM. Reliable transportation is required. Key Responsibilities Teach and guide students using iCode's curriculum Maintain a well-managed and respectful classroom environment Provide constructive feedback on class material and student progress, including status reports for parents Treat all students with fairness and respect Qualifications Positive attitude, outgoing personality, and strong interpersonal skills Dependable and flexible; available for evenings and weekends 1 year of programming experience (preferred) Familiarity with Apple computers and operating systems, or willingness to learn Strong written and verbal communication skills Enjoys working with K-12 students Problem-solving and analytical abilities Passion for learning and using technology All training is provided by iCode—no prior teaching experience required. This is a part-time evening and weekend position during the school year, with the potential for 30-40 hours per week during the summer . Classes follow a consistent weekly schedule, which only changes quarterly. We are flexible with school schedules. All after-school classes begin after 3:00 PM. We encourage college students studying early education, computer science, web design, graphic design, game development, technology, or other STEM fields to apply.
