Job Description

The Anchorage Museum is a place of ideas, creativity, and connection-committed to people, place, planet, and potential. Each summer, our Education team brings learning to life through hands-on camps that explore art, culture, history, and science. We are currently recruiting for Seasonal, Part-Time Education Camp Assistants to support our summer camp programs for youth ages 7-12. This role is an essential part of the Museum's educational mission, helping to create safe, welcoming, and engaging environments where campers can explore, play, and grow. About the Role Education Camp Assistants support the daily operations and successful delivery of Anchorage Museum summer camps. Working alongside Museum educators, Camp Assistants help supervise campers, prepare and lead activities, and ensure each camper has a positive, enriching experience. This is a seasonal, part-time position and may include non-standard hours related to camp schedules, before-care, and after-care support. What You'll Do Support daily summer camp operations, including camper check-in and check-out Supervise campers during before-care and after-care programs Assist with preparing, organizing, and distributing materials for camp activities Engage campers (ages 7-12) in hands-on learning experiences related to art, science, culture, and history Co-lead activities for three-day camps under the guidance of Museum educators Help facilitate structured lessons, group activities, outdoor time, and transitions Maintain clean, organized, and well-supplied classroom and activity spaces Encourage curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and positive behavior among campers Monitor camper safety and respond thoughtfully to camper needs Support Education Department projects and programs as needed Interact professionally and warmly with families during drop-off and pick-up Who We're Looking For We welcome diverse backgrounds, experiences, and paths into this work.
