Job Description

Job Purpose The eLab Assistant supports the daily operation of the LC e-gaming programming by supervising open/closed play sessions, assisting with technology programming, while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for youth. This role helps ensure the lab's equipment and technology are properly maintained while supporting youth engagement through gaming, tournaments, and digital media activities. Lili'uokalani Center (LC): Informed by a deep understanding of the adolescent experience and grounded in Hawaiian culture, the new LC will provide Hawaiian youth with opportunities to connect to peers and mentors, receive supportive services, and discover pathways to passion, purpose, and prosperity. LC will be LT's signature youth development hub for culture, creativity, technology, and play, and will serve as a resource center where youth can connect to vital support and a vibrant community. LC will be a safe space located in urban Honolulu where youth are inspired to pursue their dreams, including exploring pathways in the arts, sports, technology, and entrepreneurship while receiving wraparound support to help them reach their goals and become thriving adults. A primary function of LC will be to provide a space for young people to play, to learn, to find connection and inspiration, and to experience joy. Essential Responsibilities Assist with the oversight and daily operation of the LC e-gaming lab. Monitor the esports room during open/closed play hours and support positive engagement among kamalei. Enforce lab policies and promote responsible gaming behavior. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the eLab and gaming equipment. Help set up and prepare the lab for scheduled programs, classes, or events. Track lab utilization, including youth participation and equipment use, to support program planning. Inventory and maintain gaming equipment, consoles, PCs, and games. Provide basic troubleshooting support for gaming systems, software, and peripherals. Provide administrative and logistical support, ensuring efficient program operations. Support and assist facilitating esports programming at LC, including competitive play, team-based training, and community tournaments.
Other duties:
Capture photos and videos during matches and events for use in program promotion and social media. Engage with kamalei during open/closed programming as needed. Assist with basic digital media projects such as editing photos or videos as assigned. Participate in ongoing training and professional development. Work evening and weekend hours as required. Contribute to the Trust's success by accepting new assignments, supporting team members, and learning new skills. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Demonstrate an understanding of the esports ecosystem including games, platforms, and gaming peripherals. Demonstrated ability to support esports programming, with prior experience in esports clubs, e-gaming lab management or similar programs in a leadership role preferred. Basic knowledge of computer games and gaming platforms. Basic knowledge of digital media software platforms Ability to troubleshoot basic technology or gaming-related issues. Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems Basic photo and video editing skills preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to work evenings or weekends as programming requires. Valid driver's license, clean traffic abstract TB clearance High school diploma or equivalent experience Preferred Skills Experience with esports, gaming communities, or youth programming. Interest in digital media, streaming, or content creation. Experience supporting events or tournaments.
