at Department of Natural Resources in Lincoln, Illinois, United States Job Description Position Overview The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is looking to hire a Site Superintendent II at James C. Helfrich Wildlife Propagation Center for the The Office of Land Management. This position not only supervises but will prepare and maintain the site's operation, monitors pheasant rearing, assists in the hunting program on site, and facilitate day use activities. The Sitie Superintendent will live in site house or within 10 miles of game farm and will be on a rotating on-call schedule for weekend/weeknights. James C. Helfrich GPC is also known as Edward R. Madigan State Park is 974 acre site along Salt Creek south of Lincoln in Logan County. We welcome interested applicants who would like to be part of this team to apply today. Essential Functions Supervises and partcipates in the preparation and maintenance of the site's operation and financial records and reports Serves as full-line supervisor Monitors and utilizes professional expertise in the evaluation of pheasant rearing methods Establishes and maintain effective working relationships with the media and interesed groups or individuals Monitors, facilitate and assist in the hunting programs on the site, including large or small game hunts Coordinates and facilitates day use activities on the park Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to a bachelor's degree in park and recreation administration, or natural resource area administration, or in museum administration, history, American studies or archeology Requires three years of supervisory experience affording training in various facets of managing an outdoor recreational park, or natural public area, or a cultural/historic site or museum To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
