The CFA Dean's Office supports the College's four academic departments (Art, Film & Digital Arts, Music, Theatre & Dance), academic programs [BAIA (Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts), ALBS (Arts Leadership + Business minor)], and ARTSLab, Tamarind Institute, and the UNM Art Museum. The UNM College of Fine Arts' Office of the Dean is seeking to hire a work-study employee to work primarily at the front desk and to assist with the College's social media accounts. Duties include, but are not limited to: Answers telephones, routes calls, takes messages, & provides general information; greets & directs visitors; answers routine inquiries; maintains log of inquiries as required. Create and post content for CFA social media accounts. Provides occasional tours of CFA facilities for prospective students and engages with academic program faculty and staff. Assist with CFA special events including set-up, interacting with the public, and clean-up. Receives & routes incoming mail; distributes correspondence & other material to department staff/faculty. Copies and scans materials as requested; may oversee day-to-day operation of copy machine. Establishes, maintains, processes, and/or updates files, records and/or other documents while maintaining confidentiality. Run various routine errands across campus, as required, for the unit/department. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties and special projects as assigned. Typical work hours will be Monday
  • Friday, between the hours of 8:00 AM
  • Noon and 1:00 PM
  • 5:00 PM (with rare evening/weekend hours for special events). Availability to work a minimum of 15
  • 20 hours per week.
Punctuality is a must. Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications A current work-study award is
REQUIRED
for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM. Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for Fall and Spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (required for Work Study). Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook calendar and inbox). Word processing and data entry skills. Experience in customer service including the ability to incorporate appropriate phone etiquette and maintain a positive demeanor in stressful situations. Team player with the ability to also be resourceful and work effectively under limited supervision. May require minimum GPA. Some light lifting. Curiosity and creativity are always welcome.
