Duties Develop and oversee engaging exhibitions that showcase a wide range of artworks, ensuring thematic coherence and visual impact. Curate collections by researching, acquiring, cataloging, and maintaining artworks with meticulous attention to detail using specialized databases. Collaborate with artists, collectors, educators, and community partners to foster meaningful relationships that enhance programming and collection growth. Write compelling grant proposals to secure funding for exhibitions, educational programs, and collection development initiatives. Design and deliver captivating public presentations, lectures, and educational workshops tailored for diverse audiences including children and classroom groups. Utilize social media platforms to promote upcoming exhibitions, share behind-the-scenes insights, and engage with a broad audience base. Conduct research on artworks' provenance, significance, and conservation needs to inform display strategies and preservation efforts. Lead educational activities that integrate art history with hands-on learning experiences for students of all ages. Maintain detailed records of collections using databases for cataloging, condition reports, and provenance documentation. Provide excellent customer service by guiding visitors through exhibitions, answering questions, and creating welcoming environments for diverse visitors. Qualifications Proven experience in art curation or collection management within museums or galleries. Strong research skills with the ability to analyze artworks' historical context and significance. Excellent communication skills for public speaking engagements, educational programs, grant writing, and team collaboration. Proficiency in social media management tools to effectively promote exhibitions and programs. Knowledge of budgeting principles to plan financially sustainable projects. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively across departments including education, conservation, marketing, and administration.
