Requirements Job Overview Drawing on Georgetown's expertise across international affairs, public policy, global health, environmental studies and security studies, the School of Foreign Service (SFS) established the Science, Technology and International Affairs (STIA) program in 1992 to educate the next generation of leaders skilled in science and technology, create knowledge that will advance cross-cutting solutions for today's most pressing issues, and drive innovation at the nexus of science and international affairs. Since its founding, STIA has become widely recognized as a leader in research and education and has built linkages across Washington, DC and around the globe. The Assistant Director is responsible for the daily management and representation of the STIA Program, including outreach and development, event management, and program and budget administration, as well as promotion of the Program's extensive and varied activities with a consistent and effective message to the Georgetown University campus, the Washington D.C. community and beyond, domestically and internationally. Work Interactions The Assistant Director reports to the STIA Director and supervises all program operations and student employees. Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 4-5 years of closely related experience in program administration, budget planning, financial management, and fiscal stewardship, with supervisory experience. Master's degree in a relevant field such as environmental studies, global health, security studies, or science and technology studies is strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to manage operating budgets, forecast expenses, and ensure compliance with university financial policies. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and the capacity to interact effectively with a diverse community, including students, faculty, staff, university administrators, academic counterparts, donors, members of the media, etc. Strong orientation to detail, deadlines, professionalism, and client service, and excellent interpersonal and written communication Must have the ability to provide complex and efficient administrative support and prioritize effectively Proficiency in technologies related to the functions of the position, including Google apps, MS Office, social media, and web design required Experience in fundraising, donor management and grant writing preferred Strong quantitative skills and experience with managing large volumes of data and database queries preferred Work experience related to science, technology and international affairs preferred Work Mode Designation This position has been designated as Hybrid. Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $54,616.00 - $100,493.33 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.Current Georgetown Employees:
