Publications Adviser 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 828 Mid Campus Drive South, Manhattan, KS 66506 Full-time Collegian Media Group 3 reviews Full-time The Collegian Media Group (CMG) seeks an adviser to the Royal Purple yearbook and Manhappenin' Magazine for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will advise the student teams who create, edit and publish the two publications, lending experience to the editors as a coach and guide. Founded in 1909, the Royal Purple has won more national yearbook awards than any other collegiate yearbook. Manhappenin' Magazine, founded nearly a decade ago, publishes one edition in the fall and spring semester in addition to two magazine launch parties. The adviser will work closely and collaboratively with the CMG professional team through the 501(c)(3) nonprofit student media operation. This includes working with CMG's director and associate director, who also serves as the Director of Advertising, Marketing and P.R. to support general operations for ensuring the organization runs smoothly, ethically and within budget. This includes building relationships with on and off campus partners, writing reports, coordinating and setting up events, building the magazine's digital presence and coordinating efforts with the Director of Advertising, Marketing and P.R. This candidate must be skilled in journalism or a related field, be adept at mentoring and advising students to their highest potential and help our students build content that local and national advertisers can connect with to generate important revenue for our operation. They must also support the independent content decisions of students and foster a dynamic culture and community for their respective staffs they advise.
