Executive Director/Curator Description:
25 hours per week, Self-Starter with in-person weekdays with occasional evenings and weekends required; working closely with the Board of Directors, Volunteers, Staff andmunity partners; guide Society/Museum's vision while strengthening its role as a vibrant cultural and educational resource for the City of Peabody and broader Essex Countymunity. Organizational leadership & administration; Curatorial & Collections Management; Marketing & Communications; Fundraising; Public Programming; Grant Writing. Chief administrative and curatorial leader, reports directly to the Board of Directors. Mission is dedicated to the Collections, Preservation and Community access of the City of Peabody's past, to foster understanding and enjoyment of local history while connecting Peabody's story to broader regional and global narratives. Retirement contributions; paid Federal holidays; two weeks paid vacation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in history, museum studies, public history, nonprofit management, education or related field; leadership or management experience in a museum, nonprofit, cultural institution or relatedanization; strong written, verbal,anizational and interpersonalmunication skills; experience in managing multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholder relationships; ability to work independently while fostering collaboration among staff, volunteers, Board members andmunity; experience with public programming, events coordination ormunity engagement initiatives; Grant Writing and nonprofit fundraising experience; familiarity with digitalmunications, social media and membership databases; experience working with Volunteers, Educators and Municipal or Communityanizations. Commitment to local history, public access andmunity-centered cultural work. Experience with collections management and exhibition development.
