& local perspective for western Mass. Through a deep commitment to independent local journalism, trusted educational content, inspired cultural offerings, and civic engagement, NEPM shares new voices and inspire new conversations. It provides people in western Mass. with a broad array of local and national programs from PBS and NPR, as well as locally produced programs, series, podcasts and specials. Its four digital TV channels, and two radio networks present news, classical music and jazz, documentaries, talk, drama, plus cultural and educational programming. The Major Gifts Officer (MGO) reports to NEPM's Sr. Director of Development. The MGO is a member of the NEPM development team, which is responsible for raising over $5 million in gifts annually across membership, on-air pledge drives, major gifts, bequests, and grants. In addition to managing a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, the MGO plays a key role in Murrow Society program strategy and works closely with the Sr. Director of Development to build out offerings and services that improve donor engagement and inspire increased support of NEPM. Specific goals will be tied to upgrades within Murrow Society, major giving donor qualification, as well as visits made. This is a transformative period for NEPM, as it navigates profound changes in its business model, driven by the changing media landscape and evolving sources of revenue. RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage a portfolio of 150-180 major giving prospects and donors. Qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward individuals through meetings in-person and on Zoom/Teams, phone and written communication and engagement at events. Execute solicitations of annual unrestricted grantmaking foundations. Work closely with Senior Director of Development and Development Assistant on strategies to engage donors and strengthen retention. Prepare proposals, briefings and reports and meet regularly with donors. Record and track all donor activity using NEPM's CRM. SKILL SET
Strong interpersonal, writing and communication skills. Demonstrated portfolio management and relationship building experience. Ability to work independently and within a team. Knowledge of CRM relational databases. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant, progressively complex work experience, annual fund and/or major gifts experience preferred. JOB SPECIFICS
