Nonprofit Arts Gallery Manager Location San Francisco, CA 94123 Date Posted May 15, 2026 Job ID 14577 Employment Type Contract To Hire Pay rate $54/hour Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Nonprofit Arts Gallery Manager for a respected nonprofit arts organization dedicated to contemporary photography and visual arts programming. This is a part-time hybrid opportunity based in San Francisco, California, with a mix of remote and onsite responsibilities.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This dynamic opportunity is ideal for a highly organized and independent arts professional who thrives in a mission-driven, community-centered environment. The Nonprofit Arts Gallery Manager will oversee gallery operations, exhibitions, administrative processes, and fundraising support while serving as a welcoming ambassador to visitors, artists, donors, and community partners. This role offers the opportunity to play a hands-on part in supporting exhibitions, events, and organizational growth within a collaborative nonprofit arts setting.

Monday:
Remote, approximately 4:00 PM•6:00 PM
Tuesday:
Remote, approximately 4:00 PM•6:00 PM
Wednesday:
Onsite, 10:00 AM•6:00 PM
Thursday:
Onsite, 10:00 AM•6:00 PM The remote schedule offers flexibility and may shift within a comparable two-hour timeframe based on organizational needs and mutual availability.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee day-to-day gallery and operational functions, including visitor engagement, exhibition coordination, facilities support, and administrative management Manage CRM systems, donor acknowledgments, membership communications, newsletters, website updates, and social media activity Coordinate exhibition logistics including artist agreements, installations, deinstallations, artwork handling, and vendor coordination Support organizational operations including budgeting, reporting, volunteer coordination, and vendor/contractor oversight Assist with fundraising initiatives, donor engagement efforts, grant coordination, and special events including auctions and educational programming Provide a welcoming and professional experience for gallery visitors while serving as an ambassador for the organization and its mission
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working within a gallery, museum, nonprofit arts organization, or related creative environment Ability to independently manage operations and oversee multiple moving pieces simultaneously Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a professional and welcoming presence Appreciation for contemporary photography and visual arts with the ability to engage diverse audiences Familiarity with CRM, communications, project management, and event platforms such as Mailchimp, Canva, Squarespace, Zoho CRM, Eventbrite, or related tools preferred
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position offers a competitive hourly pay range of $50•56/hour, flexible hybrid scheduling, meaningful work within a respected arts nonprofit, and the opportunity to contribute to impactful exhibitions, events, and community engagement initiatives. Potential exists for extension beyond the initial assignment timeline.
