Job Description

Job Overview Songbird Music School is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Piano Teacher to join our growing private lesson studio. This position involves teaching students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced pianists, including children, teens, and adults (both first-time learners and experienced players). The ideal candidate has a classical background, and is comfortable coaching students in othervarious styles such as jazz, contemporary, and "just for fun" music. Teachers at Songbird Music School enjoy the freedom to focus solely on teaching—we handle recruiting, scheduling, billing, recitals, and administration. Teachers create their own schedules, teach consistent weekly lesson times, and work with students long-term in a supportive, well-organized environment. Qualifications Strong classical piano background Ability to teach and coach additional genres such as jazz, contemporary, and popular styles Equipped to teach piano to a variety of ages and skill levels (preferred) Engaging, positive, and encouraging teaching style Excellent rapport with students and parents Passion for music education and student growth Requirements Ability and willingness to teach beginner, intermediate, and advanced students (children, teens, and adults) Flexibility to customize curriculum based on each student's age, experience, interests, and goals Commitment to consistent weekly lesson times with minimal rescheduling Professional, reliable, and communicative Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative school community What We Offer Flexible scheduling — you set your own availability Generous time off throughout the year (9 weeks annually), planned in advance Full administrative support: recruiting, billing, scheduling, and recitals handled for you A well-established, student-centered music school where your primary focus is teaching and inspiring students Employment Type This position is a 1099 independent contractor role
