After-School Music Teacher NEO Education Center Arcadia, CA Job Details Part-time $25 - $28 an hour 12 hours ago Qualifications Student supervision Mathematics tutoring Numeracy Math Literacy education Full Job Description About the Role We are an academic focused after-school program serving K-8 students in a structured, small group environment. We are seeking a Music Teacher to lead engaging piano and music enrichment classes that introduce students to foundational music concepts while fostering creativity, discipline, and confidence. Private lesson experience is welcome; however, this role focuses primarily on group based piano instruction. The ideal candidate can effectively teach students of varying skill levels, maintain classroom structure, and create an enjoyable learning experience that encourages musical growth. Key Responsibilities Lead small-group piano and music classes for K-8 students Teach foundational piano skills, including proper technique, note reading, rhythm, and basic music theory Adapt instruction to accommodate students with varying levels of experience Create engaging lessons that balance skill development with student enjoyment Maintain a structured, positive, and productive classroom environment Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and families as needed Prepare and organize lesson materials and classroom resources Collaborate with program staff to support overall student success Ideal Candidate Experience teaching piano and/or music to children Strong understanding of piano fundamentals and basic music theory Comfortable leading and managing groups of elementary and middle school students Able to explain concepts clearly and keep students engaged Patient, positive, and encouraging teaching style Reliable, professional, and consistent Previous classroom, after-school, or youth program experience preferred Preferred Qualifications Piano proficiency and demonstrated teaching experience Music degree, certification, or equivalent experience preferred Experience working with K-8 students in educational or enrichment settings Schedule Part-time, Monday-Friday afternoons during after-school program hours. Compensation Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.

$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
