We are currently seeking a Lower School Music Teacher starting in Fall 2026 at an independent school in Pasadena, CA.
Lower School Music Teacher Responsibilities:
Teach several music courses for lower school students including general and vocal music. Design and implement music curriculum for students in grades K-5 that supports musical understanding, creativity, skill development, and joyful participation. Direct school concerts and music experiences. Lead vocal development, ensemble singing, creative expression, collaborative performance, and instrumental exploration. Collaborate with Lower School faculty to integrate musical curriculum into classroom teaching. Work closely with department staff to improve K-12 music program. Build strong relationships through clear and consistent communication with families, students, and colleagues, including timely updates on student progress and effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication Participate in ongoing professional development to improve instructional practices and remain current with trends in the field.
Lower School Music Teacher Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or related field. Master's degree preferred. At least 5 years of elementary teaching experience required. Strong vocal and instrumental skills. Knowledge of varied teaching strategies to differentiate learning. Eager to work collaboratively with other teachers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. U.S. Work Authorization required.
