In this dynamic role, you will design engaging percussion lessons, foster a love for music, and help students develop their skills through innovative teaching methods. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and creating supportive, inclusive learning environments that encourage creativity, confidence, and personal growth. Whether working with children or adults, your energy and expertise will create a lively atmosphere where students feel motivated to learn and succeed. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while honing your teaching talents in a supportive setting while implementing our youth development philosophy and club culture. Duties Develop comprehensive percussion curriculum tailored to various skill levels and age groups, including early childhood, preschool, school-age, and adult learners Deliver engaging percussion lessons that incorporate rhythm exercises, musical theory, and performance techniques Build positive relationships with students while supporting their social, emotional, and creative development Implement THE Club Youth Development Strategy by creating an environment where students experience a sense of Competence, Leadership, Usefulness, and Belonging Encourage student leadership, teamwork, confidence-building, and positive self-expression through music and performance opportunities Manage classroom environments effectively to promote positive behavior and active participation Provide personalized tutoring to students needing additional support or advanced instruction Integrate interdisciplinary activities such as theater, dance, or photography to enrich the learning experience Plan and organize performances or showcases to demonstrate student progress and boost confidence Maintain detailed records of lesson plans, student progress, and attendance to ensure consistent development Skills Background in percussion instruments and music theory with experience in curriculum development Previous experience working with children and youth in educational, recreational, or community settings preferred Proven ability to teach diverse age groups, including children with special education needs or early childhood education backgrounds Excellent classroom management skills to foster a respectful and motivating environment Experience in tutoring or working with students of varying skill levels and learning styles Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate movement, performance arts, and cultural elements Familiarity with behavior management techniques and childhood development principles Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills with a passion for mentoring young learners Commitment to fostering a positive club culture centered around Competence, Leadership, Usefulness, and Belonging Join us in shaping the next generation of musicians!
