  • In-Home Private Lessons Join a growing, student-centered in-home music school serving Denver families.
The Music Lesson Café is seeking enthusiastic private music instructors who love teaching children and want to build a steady roster of students. About Us The Music Lesson Café provides primarily in-home private music lessons throughout Denver, with occasional online instruction. Our instructors are university-educated musicians specializing in a variety of instruments. Approximately 80% of our students are elementary and middle school aged, 15% are high school students, and fewer than 5% are adults. We develop long-term relationships with our families/students and many students stay with their instructors year after year, therefore we are looking for teachers who desire steady school year income, and lasting student/family relationships. We offer annual spring recitals and support teachers who are emerging from University music programs. We are a female-owned business committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for both students and instructors. Required Qualifications Ability to teach piano
  • beginning to intermediate levels Bachelor's degree in Music Performance, Music Education, Education, or related field preferred University seniors and recent graduates in music programs are encouraged to apply Experience teaching private lessons and/or working with children strongly preferred Reliable transportation for travel to students' homes Ability to maintain a consistent weekly teaching schedule during the school year Strong communication skills and professional demeanor with families Highly Desirable Ability to teach guitar and/or a trained vocalist able to also teach voice Responsibilities Teach engaging one-on-one private lessons, primarily to students ages 5-15 Create personalized lesson plans that balance method books with student-interest repertoire Foster a positive, encouraging, and fun learning environment based upon mentorship Assess student progress and adapt instruction to meet individual needs Communicate regularly with parents regarding student development and practice goals Teaching Areas We aim to build efficient teaching routes and group students geographically whenever possible.
Teachers approve commute areas before student placement.
Current areas of need include:
East/Central Denver:
Central Park, Park Hill, Northfield, Lowry, Capital Hill, Congress Park Central/South Central Denver:
We serve a number of students in the south Central Denver area, down to the Hampden and I-25 area. The more flexibility the teacher is with driving, the faster we can fill your studio of students.
West/Central Denver:
Sloan's Lake, Highlands, Sunnyside, Edgewater, Capitol Hill, Congress Park Availability Needed Weekday afternoons/evenings, Monday-Thursday Typical lesson hours: 3:30 PM
  • 8:00 PM Minimum availability: 2 weekday afternoons/evenings per week Ideal availability: 4 weekday afternoons/evenings per week Mon
  • Thurs Greater availability generally leads to faster studio growth. Summer teaching is optional and less consistent. Compensation Per Lesson Rates (Based on Experience): 30 minutes: $21
  • 24 45 minutes: $35

Additional Compensation:
$9 commute stipend per home visit (Paid per household visit, not per student)
Bonus:
$100 monthly bonus when studio reaches 20+ active students
