Founded in 2019, New Cottage Arts provides no-cost, year-round music and arts education programs that support the social, emotional, and artistic development of youth throughout Denver. We believe arts education is essential. Our instructors are not only musicians—they are mentors, role models, and community builders. Position Overview We are seeking dynamic teaching artists who can lead engaging music classes, ensembles, and performance-based programs in schools and community settings. Ideal candidates are experienced musicians who enjoy working with young people and are excited to help students build confidence, creativity, and a sense of belonging through music. Preferred Musical Skills Experience teaching one or more of the following: Guitar Piano Voice Drums/Percussion Rock Band Digital Music Production Songwriting Music Theory Group Ensembles Multi-instrumentalists are strongly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Lead engaging music classes and ensembles for youth Prepare students for performances, showcases, and community events Create safe, inclusive, and positive learning environments Support youth development and social-emotional learning Communicate professionally with students, families, staff, and partners Collaborate with New Cottage Arts team members and school partners Track attendance and basic program documentation Arrive prepared, organized, and on time
Qualifications Required:
Experience teaching music to youth Experience leading groups of students Strong interpersonal and communication skills Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the Denver metro area Ability to teach at New Cottage Arts studios and partner schools/community sites Professionalism, flexibility, and punctuality Ability to pass a background check Commitment to teamwork and collaboration
Preferred:
