Fall 2026 The New Canaan Public Schools is seeking an elementary general music teacher. The position includes teaching traditional elementary general music curriculum and elementary choral music. Teaching experience with strong knowledge of elementary music pedagogy is required. The successful candidate will hold Connecticut certification, collaborate with music teachers to discuss student work, implement and share best practices, and collect and interpret a variety of data to inform instruction. The elementary music teacher oversees our general music program for students in grades Kindergarten through 4. The music teacher delivers standards-based lessons and works with students on music literacy and vocal pedagogy. The music teacher collaborates with classroom teachers to support children's growth and development individually and also to plan special events with grade levels, including parent and school community events. The music teacher works closely with the NCPS music department staff writing curriculum, planning events, and collaborating on concerts and recruitment. All candidates must hold or be eligible for appropriate CT certification.
