Salary Send applications or inquiries to: Job Description Chesterton Academy of Blessed Michael McGivney is seeking a music instructor and choir director for its founding year. The candidate would teach three classes per week and oversee and direct the Chesterton Academy choir program, holding at least two vocal performances per academic year. The position has the capacity for growth into a full-time position as the school adds a new grade level every year. As a classical school with an integrated curriculum, Chesterton Academy of Blessed Michael McGivney expects all teachers to be comfortable working in a collaborative environment and making cross-curricular connections. As a school grounded in the Catholic tradition, Academy teachers are expected to be not only education but spiritual and moral role models for students. This includes participation in daily Mass (for full-time staff), adherence to the Academy's norms regarding discipline, and a deep commitment to one's own professional and spiritual growth. Teachers are expected to devote themselves to the values of excellence and integrity in both their intellectual and spiritual lives and to make an oath of fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church as a sign of that devotion.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in at least one of the following fields: Music, Liberal Arts, Humanities, or related field Teaching experience preferred, but new graduates with a passion for Catholic classical education are still encouraged to apply. Must be a practicing Catholic willing to take a public oath of fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Alignment with Chesterton Academy's mission and vision, especially regarding the need for joyful, passionate educators. Willingness to actively participate in school life, including (but not limited to) daily Mass, the House system, and school events. Must possess the flexibility and positive attitude required to flourish in a startup environment. Must be willing to organize and lead at least two student choral performances per year
Compensation:
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
