Reading Edge Academy is a tuition-free public charter school serving grades K-5 in DeBary, Florida. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary Music Teacher who inspires students through music, creativity, and performance while fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. What You'll Do Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based music instruction aligned with Florida State Standards. Teach fundamental music concepts, including rhythm, melody, vocal techniques, music appreciation, and age-appropriate instrument exploration. Create a welcoming classroom environment that encourages creativity, confidence, teamwork, and self-expression. Organize and support school performances, musical programs, and special events. Assess student progress and use data to guide instruction and support individual student growth. Communicate regularly with parents and families regarding student progress and performances. Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support school-wide goals and initiatives. Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, school events, and team planning. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field (required). Valid Florida Teaching Certificate in Music K-12 or eligibility to obtain certification. Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Passion for helping students develop a lifelong appreciation for music and the arts. Ability to direct student performances and coordinate music-related school events. Experience teaching elementary-aged students or working in a charter school setting is a plus, but not required.
