Statesboro Campus 1332 Southern Drive Statesboro, GA 30458 Department Information Within this setting, The Fred and Dinah Gretsch School of Music offers student-centered degree programs at the bachelor¿s and master¿s level. Our mission is to provide opportunities for studying and making music within the context of a liberal arts education; to prepare students for careers in music-related fields; to enhance the cultural life of the campuses and surrounding region; and to contribute to the preservation and expansion of our rich musical tradition through performance, composition, education, research, and music industry. Students are mentored by a faculty of dedicated teacher-scholars, who are nationally and internationally known in their fields of expertise. Job Summary Reporting to the Chair of the Gretsch School of Music, the Visiting Instructor of Class Piano and Piano Pedagogy will: Teach all sections of undergraduate Group Piano Teach Piano Pedagogy I and II to undergraduate students as needed Accompany students and faculty as needed Keep the piano lab up to date and in good repair Serve as a member of the keyboard area committee and other committees as assigned The position is an academic (10 month) appointment. Required Qualifications Earned Masters degree in piano pedagogy, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in piano, by August 1, 2026. Extensive experience teaching all levels of undergraduate group piano. Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives. Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in piano pedagogy Experience teaching piano pedagogy to undergraduate and graduate students Extensive experience collaborating with instrumentalists at all levels Proposed Salary Commensurate with experience. This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
