Vocal Music Teacher (Grades 6-12) West Ada School District - 3.7 Meridian, ID Job Details Part-time 21 hours ago Qualifications Teaching Certification Full Job Description IFAA Vocal Music Teacher (Grades 6-12) IFAA's vocal program is more than a traditional school choir program. Students are accepted through a competitive audition process as vocal majors in a public, tuition free school of choice in the West Ada School District. Students develop as complete musicians, performers, collaborators, creators, and artists. The Vocal Program reflects IFAA's mission to build lives through artistic, academic, and civic excellence. Students learn to perform confidently, collaborate across disciplines, communicate through music, and grow as creative thinkers and leaders in a highly relational environment. Program Highlights Daily vocal music instruction within an intensive arts major model (85 minutes daily) Training in healthy vocal technique, solo and ensemble performance, musical theatre, jazz, contemporary and classical styles, and vocal artistry Frequent performances including concerts, community events, productions, showcases, and interdisciplinary collaborations Strong emphasis on creativity, collaboration, stage presence, songwriting, improvisation, and authentic artistic identity A student-centered culture that values both artistic excellence and individual expression Position Overview Candidate holds Idaho teaching certification and K-12 music endorsement .67 FTE position or 67% of a full-time teaching position Leads the Vocal Major Program for grades 6-12, two classes daily on A/B Block Works with both developing and advanced vocalists Collaborates closely with dance, theatre, instrumental music, film, and visual arts faculty Helps shape performances, productions, showcases, and community arts experiences Desired Candidate Profile We are seeking a versatile vocal music educator who: o Demonstrates strong vocal pedagogy and rehearsal skills o Is comfortable teaching multiple genres and styles o Can direct ensembles and coach solo performers o Possesses strong piano/keyboard accompanying skills o Values creativity, innovation, collaboration, and authentic student artistry o Is enthusiastic about mentoring young artists The next leader of the IFAA Vocal Program should be able to build upon a highly respected and unique program centered on vocal excellence, creativity, collaboration, and meaningful artistic performance.
