JOB VACANCY ELEMENTARY 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR ELEMENTARY MUSIC TEACHER

Are you passionate about inspiring a lifelong love of music in young learners? We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and energetic Elementary Music Teacher to join our team, serving students across two of our wonderful elementary schools: Carlin Park Elementary and Hendry Park Elementary in Angola, Indiana. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and engaging classroom environment where students can explore music through singing, playing instruments, movement, and listening. You will play a vital role in our school communities by leading school-wide musical performances and building a foundational appreciation for the arts.RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, develop, and execute comprehensive general music lesson plans that align with Indiana State Standards for elementary students (Grades K-5). Travel between Carlin Park Elementary and Hendry Park Elementary to deliver consistent, high-quality music instruction. Instruct students in the fundamentals of music, including rhythm, melody, harmony, and music history. Direct and organize winter and spring musical performances, assemblies, and other school events. Teach introductory instrumental skills, including Orff instruments, rhythm band instruments, and recorders. Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and administration. Collaborate with classroom teachers and other unified arts staff to integrate music into broader educational themes. Maintain and manage the inventory of musical instruments, sheet music, and classroom equipment. Foster an inclusive, safe, and respectful classroom environment that encourages artistic risk-taking. Implement research-based strategies, including SIOP components, to support diverse learners and ensure all students achieve linguistic growth. Participate in available Extracurricular Activities as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from an accredited college or university. Valid Indiana State Teaching License in Music Education (or ability to obtain one prior to the start date). Strong understanding of elementary vocal pedagogy and instrumental instruction. Excellent classroom management skills tailored to early childhood and elementary-aged students. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively across two school buildings. Completion of Safe Hiring Solutions' expanded background check, including the Department of Child Services index.COMPENSATION
