Job Overview:
About us: Terre Haute Music School is a small but growing music school in Terre Haute, Indiana. We teach students of all ages and all ability levels. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Music Teacher to join our team. As a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for instructing students in your areas of expertise. You will have the opportunity to work with students of different ages and skill levels, fostering their love for music and helping them develop their musical abilities.Duties:
- Teach students how to read sheet music, play instruments, and understand music theory
- Provide individual and group instruction to students of various ages and skill levels
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback on their musical development
- Communicate regularly with students' parents, to keep them apprised of the student's homework and progress.
Experience:
- Previous experience teaching music preferred
- Ability to play one or more musical instruments proficiently
- Experience working with students of different ages, from preschool to adult learners
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles is a plus
- Additional experience in theater, special education, childcare, or adult education is beneficial This work is done on a contract basis.
