St. John the Baptist Parish School System is seeking a highly qualified Itinerant Band Teacher to provide high-quality music instruction and support band programs across multiple school sites. The Itinerant Band Teacher will deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that fosters student growth in musical skill, performance, and appreciation, while contributing to a well-rounded educational experience. This role includes planning and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons, supporting both individual and ensemble performance, and collaborating with school leaders and classroom teachers to ensure continuity and consistency across campuses. The Itinerant Band Teacher will create inclusive learning environments that meet the diverse needs of all students, including students with disabilities, and promote participation in music programs across the district. Additionally, the Itinerant Band Teacher is responsible for organizing performances, maintaining equipment and materials, and strengthening school-based music programs through intentional planning, relationship-building, and high expectations for student achievement.
