JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Provide student-centered, differentiated lessons, units, and projects that align with the MA CTE Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishings Frameworks
  • Employ various instructional techniques to engage all learners
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established district curriculum goals; establish and communicate clear objectives to students for lessons, units, labs, and projects
  • Maintain timely record keeping via PowerSchool (student information and grading system) and electronic student competency tracking
  • Maintain up-to-date files, including student records
  • Maintain classroom management through an understanding and adherence to accepted school policies
  • Provide assistance to students serving make-up or detention
  • Participate in district professional development activities and school improvement initiatives
  • Participate collaboratively in the development of curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment
  • Provide after-school assistance to students per contract and as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Foster competition and achievement by supporting SkillsUSA activities
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vocational Director
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possession of a High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Possession of current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in at least two areas (one of the areas must be "Painting and Refinishing")
  • Chapter 74 Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishing License preferred (or the ability/qualifications needed for licensure)
  • Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishing
  • Ability to maintain student discipline, differentiate instruction, and work with diverse populations
  • Possess teaching experience or demonstrable teaching ability
  • Demonstration of initiative and willingness to participate in further study as necessary
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, administrators, and families
  • Willingness to foster strong relationships with students and teachers
  • Punctuality, flexibility, strong self-management, and self-initiative skills
  • Understanding of vocational practices, procedures, expectations, and the instructional practices that will facilitate students' proficiency in their technical area
