- Provide student-centered, differentiated lessons, units, and projects that align with the MA CTE Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishings Frameworks
- Employ various instructional techniques to engage all learners
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established district curriculum goals; establish and communicate clear objectives to students for lessons, units, labs, and projects
- Maintain timely record keeping via PowerSchool (student information and grading system) and electronic student competency tracking
- Maintain up-to-date files, including student records
- Maintain classroom management through an understanding and adherence to accepted school policies
- Provide assistance to students serving make-up or detention
- Participate in district professional development activities and school improvement initiatives
- Participate collaboratively in the development of curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment
- Provide after-school assistance to students per contract and as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Foster competition and achievement by supporting SkillsUSA activities
- Other duties as assigned by the Vocational Director
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Possession of current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in at least two areas (one of the areas must be "Painting and Refinishing")
- Chapter 74 Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishing License preferred (or the ability/qualifications needed for licensure)
- Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishing
- Ability to maintain student discipline, differentiate instruction, and work with diverse populations
- Possess teaching experience or demonstrable teaching ability
- Demonstration of initiative and willingness to participate in further study as necessary
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, administrators, and families
- Willingness to foster strong relationships with students and teachers
- Punctuality, flexibility, strong self-management, and self-initiative skills
- Understanding of vocational practices, procedures, expectations, and the instructional practices that will facilitate students' proficiency in their technical area
