Full Job Description Job Purpose:
The Elementary Music Teacher at Summit Christian Academy is responsible for providing a nurturing and faith-based educational environment for students in grades 4-6. The teacher will facilitate learning and spiritual growth, ensuring that students not only achieve academic excellence but also develop a strong foundation in Christian values.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Christian values and educational standards of Summit Christian Academy. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to grow academically, socially, and spiritually. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure continued growth in both faith and academics. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support the holistic development of students. Participate in school events, activities, and professional development opportunities to further the mission and vision of Summit Christian Academy. Uphold and model Christian principles in all interactions with students, staff, and the community.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
Required Experience:
Proven experience teaching at the elementary level, preferably within a K-6 setting Experience working in a Christian school environment or a similar faith-based educational setting Demonstrated ability to foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports students' academic and spiritual growth
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of child development and elementary education best practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff Ability to integrate faith-based principles into the curriculum and classroom activities Proficiency in creating and implementing lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and needs Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for continued growth in faith and education practices
