About us Southern Music Academy is a leading music school based in Georgia, USA, offering private lessons for a range of instruments, including guitar, piano, drums, voice, and violin mainly in the homes of our students. The school also provides group classes for preschool-aged children at Childcare facilities. The faculty is comprised of experienced and highly qualified instructors who are passionate about music and teaching. The academy has a reputation for providing quality music education that caters to students of all ages and skill levels. We are now expanding our classes to include the St. Louis Metro Area Our company is seeking creative and experienced individuals to join our team of talented Instructors. The ideal candidate will be able to teach engaging music classes that inspire others to learn new skills. We're looking for a flexible, friendly and outgoing instructor with a passion for teaching and an ability to communicate effectively.
Responsibilities:
Drive to the homes of students in areas including Chesterfield, Town & Country, Kirkwood, Cottleville, Edwardsville, University City, and other St. Louis suburbs. Teachers typically do not drive any further than 10 - 15 miles to their students (15 - 20 min is the typical drive) Must have a valid driver's license in good standing and a reliable vehicle. Must be able to teach private piano lessons to students as young as 5 years old. Determine curricula and lesson plans using industry standards and best practices. Ensure that all students meet state and national curriculum standards in music on their main instrument. Mentor students in the development of personal study skills such as time management, audition preparation, and critical thinking. Guide students through the music college audition process. Teach students to read music, understand music theory and develop proper technique on their instrument of choice. Track the attendance and progress of each of the students Communicate the direction and contents of music lessons to families, and school administration, if necessary. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field Proven experience in teaching piano to students of all ages Strong curriculum development skills Excellent classroom management abilities Experience in tutoring and working with children and adults Familiarity with dancing, and photography is a plus Ability to create engaging and interactive lessons Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patient, encouraging, and passionate about music education Valid driver's license Excellent time management skills
