Job Description
Music Instructor - Guitar, Bass & Drums Lune Spark Center for Creativity | Apex, Holly Springs & Chapel Hill, NC 25-30 hours/week | $20-$25/hour | On-site About Lune Spark Lune Spark is a multi-discipline creative arts center where children and adults explore music, fine arts, dance, acting, filmmaking, digital arts and more. We're building a creative community where students can discover what excites them, develop real skills and grow with passionate teachers. The Role We're looking for an engaging Multi-Instrument Music Instructor to join and help grow our music program. Guitar is the primary instrument, with the ability to teach bass and/or drums a strong plus. You'll work with children, teens and adults, from complete beginners to developing musicians. We're looking for someone who loves music, genuinely enjoys teaching and can make lessons something students look forward to. The role works across our Holly Springs, Apex and Chapel Hill centers with a flexible schedule based on student and program needs. What You'll Do
- Teach private and group guitar lessons across different ages and skill levels.
- Teach bass and/or drums based on your proficiency.
- Build strong fundamentals while helping students play music they're genuinely excited about.
- Adapt your teaching style to children, teens and adult learners.
- Prepare and encourage students for performances and showcases.
- Contribute ideas for bands, jam sessions, workshops and new music programs.
- Help create a great student and family experience that encourages retention and referrals.
- Participate in occasional Lune Spark events, camps and creative collaborations. What We're Looking For
- Strong guitar skills and confidence teaching guitar.
- Ability to teach bass and/or drums is highly desirable.
- Previous music teaching experience.
- Comfortable teaching all ages, including adults.
- Knowledge of technique, rhythm, music fundamentals and contemporary styles.
- Patient, engaging and able to connect with different personalities.
- Dependable, professional and collaborative.
- Flexible availability, including afternoons, evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work across all three Lune Spark locations.
- Music education, performance or band experience is a plus.
