Number of hours will depend on student interest and enrollment in the school of music guitar program. This position is paid based on the number of students enrolled in the guitar instruction program. The ideal candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of music theory and a passion for teaching.
Studio Expansion Opportunity:
While guitar is the primary focus, there is potential to expand your studio. We welcome candidates who are comfortable offering instruction in additional instruments not currently available at the school, such as ukulele, wind instruments, or percussion, depending on student demand.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching students of all levels and ages, from Pre-K to 12th grade Developing lesson plans based on each student's individual needs and goals Monitoring and evaluating student progress Hosting two recitals per year with other private music instructors at the school Cultivating a positive and encouraging teaching environment Maintaining accurate and organized records
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Music or related field Teaching experience preferred Proficiency in multiple musical styles Knowledge of music theory and technique Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents Ability to motivate and inspire students Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Please apply online through the Westchester Country Day School website (www.westchestercds.org).
