Overview St. Egbert Catholic School, a faith-filled PreK-5 Catholic elementary school, is seeking a passionate, energetic, and creative Music Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education and a commitment to fostering a love of music in students of all ages. This part-time role will bring the beauty and joy of music into the lives of our students through engaging lessons, songs, rhythm and movement activities, and hands-on musical exploration that spark curiosity, ignite creativity, and build foundational skills for lifelong learning. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help cultivate a positive classroom environment where students thrive academically and socially. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners' educational journeys. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that meets the educational standards and needs of students. Educate students in various aspects of music, including theory, performance, and appreciation. Incorporate elements of childhood development into teaching practices to support student growth. Provide instruction in various musical genres and techniques. Collaborate with other educators and Church staff to integrate music into broader educational and liturgical programs. Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity and self-expression among students. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement to foster strong home-school partnerships. Participate in occasional school events to showcase student learning and musical growth, helping to celebrate their achievements and bring the joy of music to the wider school community. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field preferred. Experience teaching Music in an elementary school settings, with familiarity in classroom management and curriculum implementation. Creative, patient, and organized with the ability to make learning fun and accessible. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage students effectively and collaborate with colleagues and families. A passion for teaching music and inspiring students to explore their musical talents. Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training prior to start.
