JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the Director of AEC, The AEC Instructor is responsible for developing curriculum and creates, implements, and delivers educational programs for adult learners. Advises, assesses, and teaches students in the identified academic core subject of expertise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement plans, and educational programs for adult students within areas of endorsement. Presents and reinforces learning concepts within a specified subject or subject area. Answers student inquiries and resolve problems related to curriculum, course expectations and student attendance. Prepare appropriate documentation and reports on student progress. Maintains a flexible schedule and office hours to accommodate adult-learner schedules. Able to commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week per class. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Is familiar with and follows expectations outlined in the AEC Program Manual. Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees, customers, and participants. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required Two (2) or more proven experience in educational field required
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current and valid Nebraska teaching certificate in secondary education with a Music endorsement. CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILIIES
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Ability to access and promote a variety of assistive technologies. Ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum, assessment, and/or teaching methodologies. Knowledge of adult learning theory and methodologies. Ability to address individualized learning needs. Desire to serve the segment of the adult population that strives to improve themselves and their families through educational advancement. Must maintain confidentiality and use discretion in dealing with sensitive or controversial issues and information Ability to travel within the service area Ability to foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects cultural and individual diversity.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sedentary - Indoor Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and files. Walking and standing are required occasionally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Limited General office environment infrequently exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.)
