Job Description

Concord Community Music School (CCMS) is seeking a dynamic and experienced piano teaching artist to join our collegial and creative faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to teach in a thriving community music school that values artistic excellence, collaboration, and joyful music-making for students of all ages and backgrounds. The piano department currently includes eight dedicated and supportive faculty members who work closely together to serve students and families. About the Role The Piano Instructor will teach private piano lessons and may have opportunities to engage in group instruction and special programs. Starting with 2-3 days of teaching, this position qualifies for benefits when 20 hours of teaching are reached and can become a salaried position for the right candidate. Faculty at CCMS are encouraged to bring their creativity, curiosity, and unique musical voice into their teaching while contributing to a welcoming and student-centered learning environment. Responsibilities Teach private piano lessons for students of varying ages and levels Collaborate with Piano Department Chairs to support student growth and family communication Prepare students for recitals Complete progress reports for private lesson students in grades K-12 each semester Participate in the annual fall faculty meeting and Open House Explore opportunities to contribute to CCMS community initiatives and summer programs Qualifications Master's degree in performance, pedagogy, or equivalent professional experience Demonstrated success teaching piano students of diverse ages and abilities Ability to teach across multiple musical styles (classical, jazz, rock, contemporary music a plus) Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues

More than 50 teaching artists work with 1400 students weekly, age 6 months to 93 years, in lessons, early childhood classes, ensembles, choruses and community partnerships with human service agencies, schools and healthcare providers. Located at 23 Wall Street, the spacious teaching facility includes three floors of teaching studios, ensemble rooms, a recording studio, percussion room, two large performance spaces, and an outdoor stage. Faculty members, guest artists, and students present more than 150 public concerts and workshops annually.
