Job Description

Description Citizenship & Science Academy of Rochester Elementary Charter School is currently accepting applications for a Music Teacher (Grades K-6) for the 2025-2026 school year . We are seeking dynamic, collaborative, flexible, and engaging educators. We offer a supportive environment for new teachers and encourage experienced educators to apply. New York State Certification is required. Key Responsibilities The ideal candidate will: Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum and New York State learning standards Demonstrate a strong understanding of Common Core and state standards Modify, redesign, and develop curriculum as needed to meet student needs Collaborate with staff to align instructional goals, objectives, and methods Prepare students for relevant standardized assessments Apply strong content knowledge and effective instructional practices Use data and analytics to inform instruction and improve student outcomes Maintain a structured, positive, and effective classroom environment Foster a love of music, creativity, and self-expression in students Embrace feedback, accountability, and continuous professional growth What We Offer Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, Employee Assistance Program, and more) Enrollment in the NYS Teacher Retirement System (TRS) or 403(b) with employer match Tuition reimbursement Competitive salary Ongoing professional development with instructional coaches and mentors Integration of technology in classrooms, including iPads, Chromebooks, and educational applications Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred Valid New York State Teaching Certification (required) Experience working with diverse student populations or in an urban setting (preferred) Prior teaching experience (preferred), though new teachers are encouraged to apply Fingerprint clearance through the
NYS Department of Education Music-Specific Qualifications:
