Description of Job Duties Description of Job Duties:
The SWOSU Music Department seeks a continuing, full-time Instructor or Assistant Professor of Music with specialization in voice. Primary teaching responsibilities include applied voice, opera workshop, and music history coursework, with additional duties assigned based on departmental needs and candidate expertise. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Teaching assignments mentioned above Maintaining weekly office hours appropriate to course load Participating in early grade alert systems and assessing student outcomes Departmental assessment Student advisement and support of student activities Continuing professional development Establishing a record of scholarship Deadline Date Review of applications will begin June 1 and continue until the position is filled Application Procedure Submit cover letter referencing Position, vita including links to vocal performance recordings, unofficial transcripts, and the names and contact information of three references to the online portal. For more information visit www.swosu.edu . Education and Experience Education and Experience Masters Degree in Music or Music Education required. Doctorate in Music is preferred. Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred. Technological competence and experience in the LMS Canvas is preferred.
