SUMMARY OF BUSINESS
The John G. Shedd Institute is a non-profit performing arts company, educational institute and venue that serves Oregon with year-round professional performances, educational programs for all ages, and venue rental for non-profit organizations. The mission of our Community Music School is to promote lifelong amateur music making.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Skill in music theory, varied music styles and music ability. Group class instructor will work with youth students on a variety of genres and different instruments (introductory level). Lead groups in song learning and basic theory. Shedd faculty may also teach private lessons, classes and camps on-site and special classes off-site, depending on the individual's skills, expertise and breadth of repertoire. QUALIFICATIONS and
ATTRIBUTES
Bachelor's degree preferred. Breadth of repertoire and pedagogical approaches desired. Basic piano accompanying ability. Minimum two years teaching experience preferred (privately or school-based). Ability to pass FBI criminal background check. Ability to work within established guidelines and systems and as a team faculty member.
