Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a joyful, faith-filled, and energetic Music Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will foster a love for music in students from Pre-K through 8th Grade, while integrating the rich traditions of Catholic liturgy and culture into the curriculum. You won't just be teaching notes and rhythms; you'll be helping students find their voices to praise God and express their creativity. Key Responsibilities •
Curriculum & Instruction:
Develop and implement engaging music lessons that cover music theory, history, vocal performance, and basic instrumentation. •
Liturgical Leadership:
Coordinate and lead the musical elements of weekly school Masses, including training student cantors and selecting hymns that align with the liturgical calendar. •
Performance Direction:
Organize and direct seasonal performances, including theChristmas Program and a spring concert or musical. •
Classroom Environment:
Maintain a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom atmosphere rooted in Christian values and mutual respect. •
Faith Integration:
Incorporate Catholic identity into the music program, introducing students to diverse genres ranging from Gregorian chant to contemporary praise and worship. Skills Proven experience in teaching music across different settings, including classroom management and behavior management techniques Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Ability to work effectively with children, and teenagers, learners in diverse educational environments Expertise in specialized areas such as special education or preschool experience is a plus Familiarity with integrating arts such as theater, ballet, or dance into music education programs Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, parents, and community partners Passion for fostering creativity through activities like photography or culinary projects that complement musical instruction
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
