Franklin & Marshall College invites applications for an adjunct position in the Department of Music to teach credit- and non-credit studio lessons in Flute. Lessons will be taught in person beginning August 24, 2026; the employment period extends for two weeks following the completion of the 2027 spring semester. The position is renewable, but not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. The rank will be Adjunct Assistant Professor or Adjunct Instructor, depending on qualifications. Compensation per student per semester is $456 for twelve 30-minute lessons or $760 for twelve 50-minute lessons, offered at the 100- and 200-level, respectively. Instructors also provide three master classes per semester for students in their 200-level studios. Pursuant to cultivating an inclusive college community, the search committee will assess the qualifications of each applicant holistically. We will consider an individual's record working with students and colleagues with diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. We will also consider experience overcoming or helping others overcome barriers to academic success.Qualifications:
Applicants should possess or be close to completing a D.M.A. in Flute, though candidates with a M.Mus. or equivalent professional experience will be considered.Application Instructions:
