Full-Time Full Job Description Faith Christian Academy exists to provide families with a Biblical education and excellence in a God-centered environment. We are currently looking for qualified applicants to fill the following position: High School Music Teacher
JOB DESCRIPTION
Generate, prepare and teach curriculum for Music. Prepare musical programs and/or concerts. Direct Choir and Band.
Essential Functions:
Talent for communicating with children and encouraging their academic and artistic success. High level of patience and creativity encourage participation and love for music.
Other Duties:
Lead group study, discussion, and demonstration. Develop an interesting and interactive classroom learning environment. Prepare materials for successful delivery of lessons. Motivate students to participate and engage in learning in a clean and disciplined environment. Guide students as they incorporate and practice the concepts presented. Maintain a gradebook through FACTS. Communicate with parents through email, phone, and in-person conferences. Evaluate and observe students' musical gifts and talents. Direct choir and band. Direct Chapel worship, programs and concerts, which will require occasional after-school hours. Work effectively with colleagues and administration.
Qualifications:
The Music Teacher must: Have a personal relationship with Christ. Possess a sound knowledge of music theory with an extensive understanding of the subject matter. Have an engaging approach, recognizing that students learn in a variety of ways. Be a motivator; finding creative ways to assist students in their individual learning capacities. Be constantly learning and developing his/her approach and skills. Possess a Bachelor of Science in Music Education or Performance. (Education certificate preferable) Demonstrate ability to work independently. Be able to manage multiple tasks. Possess sound judgment. Provide PA state-mandated clearances
