Music Teacher (K-5) Bethune/Cochran/Salazar Dallas Independent School District - 3.6 Dallas, TX Job Details Full-time $67,500 - $68,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Teaching Certification Bachelor's degree Transportation planning Typing Travel scheduling Educational program management Full Job Description Music Teacher (K-5) Bethune/Cochran/Salazar -(RTP20260512-010) Description Assist with direction of all school band performances, including marching band, concert band, jazz band, soloists, and small ensembles. Assist with establishing performance requirements, enforcing academic requirements, and verifying each student's eligibility to participate in band. Assist in providing opportunities for band participation in curricular and extracurricular events, including concerts, football games, pep rallies, parades, TMEA, and UIL activities. Assist with arrangements for transportation, lodging, and meals for out-of-town events. Comply with federal and state laws, State and Local Board of Education policy, and UIL rules governing band participation. Assist with evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to determine program effectiveness and ensure that program renewal is continuous and responds to student needs. Assist with planning and use of appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required. Assist with development and implementation of plans for improvement and growth of band program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment /alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees/campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from accredited university. Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned. Direct and manage the overall program of instrumental music for the school(s) assigned. Advanced typing skills of 60 wpm. Provide students the opportunity to participate in extracurricular band activities and ensure compliance with all state, University Interscholastic League (UIL), and District requirements. Plan activities to achieve district, region, and state recognition. Direct and supervise all school band performances, including marching band, concert band, jazz band, soloists, and small ensembles. Establish performance requirements, enforce academic requirements, and verify each student's eligibility to participate in band. Provide opportunities for band participation in curricular and extracurricular events, including concerts, football games, pep rallies, parades, TMEA, and UIL activities. Arrange transportation, lodging, and meals for out-of-town events. Develop and implement plans for improvement and growth of band program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
