Job Description

Roberts Academy Enrichment Instructor, PT Posted on 4/16/2026 Accepting applications About this position The part-time enrichment instructor (Music, Physical Education, Art, Library/Media, or STEM) is responsible for providing engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction to students in grades 1-8. The instructor fosters students' skills, creativity, and enjoyment within their content area through a variety of planned activities and experiences tailored to diverse learning needs, including students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. This position is part-time, not to exceed 20 hours per week. The typical schedule is two days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with potential flexibility based on school needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide whole-group instruction in the assigned enrichment area (Music, Physical Education, Art, Library/Media, or STEM) to students in grades 1-8. Design and implement weekly, age-appropriate lesson plans that are engaging, hands-on, and aligned with best practices in the assigned content area. Incorporate instructional strategies that support diverse learners, including multisensory and accessible approaches appropriate for students with dyslexia and other learning differences. Create a positive, structured learning environment that promotes student engagement, creativity, collaboration, and skill development. Collaborate with Roberts Academy faculty and staff to support student success and ensure alignment with school-wide expectations. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and other stakeholders, as appropriate, regarding student participation and progress. Maintain appropriate materials, organization, and classroom routines to support effective instruction. Participate in relevant meetings and professional development as required. Contribute to the success of The Roberts Academy by performing additional duties as needed to support the school's mission, vision, and values of Florida Southern College. About our ideal candidate
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
Earned baccalaureate degree in Education, Music, or related field. Fingerprinting clearance and background check including Clearinghouse approval. 3-5 years' experience working with elementary and/or middle school students. Desire to work with students in a private school learning environment. Patient and enthusiastic about making a difference in student progress. Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work requires regular standing and walking; talking and hearing, both in person and by telephone; use of hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard classroom equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance. Near visual acuity is necessary for reading computer screens and reading printed materials. Ability to listen carefully to others while on the phone or in person.

The assignment is campus-based and not intended for work from home.
