Part Time Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Music Instructor to join our performing arts studio. The ideal candidate will inspire students of varying ages and skill levels, foster a positive learning environment, and contribute to a vibrant, creative community. This role involves teaching individual and/or group lessons, supporting student growth, and participating in studio performances and events. Our music instructors teach at our studio locations in North Kingstown as well as our in-school music programs at several private schools in Rhode Island.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality music instruction in one or more areas (e.g., voice, piano, guitar, percussion, ukulele, early childhood music or other instruments) Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to students' goals, abilities, and learning styles Prepare students for recitals, performances and auditions. Foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment that encourages creativity and confidence Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and, when appropriate, parents/guardians Collaborate with other instructors and staff to support studio programming and events Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and clear communication with students and team members Assist with organizing and participating in studio showcases, workshops, and community events

Qualifications:

Proven experience teaching music Strong proficiency in at least one instrument or vocal instruction Multi-instrumental or cross-disciplinary abilities preferred Background in music education, performance, or a related field (degree preferred but not required) Ability to teach students of different ages and skill levels Experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Enthusiasm for the performing arts and student development Proficiency in Music Theory and the ability to teach fundamental concepts Background Check required
