Blessed Sacrament School is growing and we are looking to add the right teachers to our team. We are a high-performing PreK-8 Catholic school in the heart of Providence. We just celebrated our 100th anniversary and we have grown 42% in the last two years. We cap our elementary classrooms at 20 students (average size is 17), we have full-time TAs, and we offer paid professional development. Could you see yourself as part of our growing, vibrant community?
We are looking for a dynamic music teacher who can teach pre-kindergarteners to middle schoolers, helping them to develop a love for music. You'll have a fun, but structured class that fosters deep learning. Your music class will be way beyond a sing-along class, incorporating the reading of music, music theory, genre studies, and hopefully the playing of instruments. You'll also take the lead preparing our kids for the Christmas and Spring Concerts. And, as an extra bonus, you'll feel comfortable singing in church during our monthly Masses.
Finally, we are looking for a music teacher who can also teach a middle school elective on social media awareness and study skills - don't worry, we have the social media awareness curriculum ready to go for you!

While the salary of a Catholic school teacher is not huge, you will have health, dental, and vision insurance, 10 days paid time off, snow days, small class sizes, and the most adorable group of kids you've ever met. Plus you'll have the opportunity to earn extra money through paid PD, tutoring, and extra-curricular activities. You should have a growth mindset and be a continuous learner. You should have excellent communication skills in both speaking and writing. You should have a tremendous work ethic and enjoy the "heavy lifting" of teaching. You should have strong character and be worthy of being a role model for children. You should be a team player willing to support your colleagues. Having conversational Spanish to talk to parents is also a plus!
