K-8 Music Teacher Diocese of Providence - 3.6 Providence, RI Job Details Full-time $34,000 - $35,000 a year 4 hours ago Benefits Dental insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Qualifications Middle school teaching Spanish Heavy lifting Program development Writing skills Parent communication Social media platforms Working with middle schoolers Elementary school teaching Working with elementary school students Singing activities with children Communication skills Entry level Teaching instrumental performance Full Job Description Are you a veteran music teacher looking for smaller class sizes and fewer administrative headaches?

Are you a new college graduate looking to start your music teaching career in an incredibly supportive environment?

Are you an experienced musician with a talent for teaching others and a desire to build a music program?

Blessed Sacrament School is growing and we are looking to add the right teachers to our team. We are a high-performing PreK-8 Catholic school in the heart of Providence. We just celebrated our 100th anniversary and we have grown 42% in the last two years. We cap our elementary classrooms at 20 students (average size is 17), we have full-time TAs, and we offer paid professional development. Could you see yourself as part of our growing, vibrant community?

We are looking for a dynamic music teacher who can teach pre-kindergarteners to middle schoolers, helping them to develop a love for music. You'll have a fun, but structured class that fosters deep learning. Your music class will be way beyond a sing-along class, incorporating the reading of music, music theory, genre studies, and hopefully the playing of instruments. You'll also take the lead preparing our kids for the Christmas and Spring Concerts. And, as an extra bonus, you'll feel comfortable singing in church during our monthly Masses.

Finally, we are looking for a music teacher who can also teach a middle school elective on social media awareness and study skills - don't worry, we have the social media awareness curriculum ready to go for you!

As you can see, you'll have a varied week. If this excites you and you're a real self-starter, then you should definitely apply to be a part of our team!

While the salary of a Catholic school teacher is not huge, you will have health, dental, and vision insurance, 10 days paid time off, snow days, small class sizes, and the most adorable group of kids you've ever met. Plus you'll have the opportunity to earn extra money through paid PD, tutoring, and extra-curricular activities. You should have a growth mindset and be a continuous learner. You should have excellent communication skills in both speaking and writing. You should have a tremendous work ethic and enjoy the "heavy lifting" of teaching. You should have strong character and be worthy of being a role model for children. You should be a team player willing to support your colleagues. Having conversational Spanish to talk to parents is also a plus!
