Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic K-6 Music Teacher to inspire young learners through the power of music. In this role, you will design engaging, developmentally appropriate music lessons that foster creativity, musical literacy, and a lifelong love of the arts. You will create a vibrant classroom environment where students can explore their musical talents, develop essential skills in rhythm, melody, and harmony, and integrate music into their broader educational experience. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help cultivate confident, expressive students who appreciate the richness of musical diversity. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive music curricula aligned with educational standards and tailored to diverse learning needs, including those with IEPs. Plan and deliver engaging lessons that incorporate various teaching methods, including technology-enhanced learning tools and interactive activities. Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports students with disabilities and promotes positive behavior management strategies. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including observation and questioning when applicable, to inform instruction. Incorporate literacy education and cross-curricular connections such as math and language arts into music lessons to enhance overall academic development. Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to organize lesson plans, track student progress, and communicate with parents and colleagues effectively. Support students' social-emotional growth through music-based activities that encourage collaboration, self-expression, and confidence building. Maintain classroom management by establishing clear expectations, routines, and behavior policies that create a safe learning environment. Collaborate with colleagues at each grade level on curriculum development to plan and present a program based on appropriate standards. Other projects, school events, and extracurricular programs such as 5th & 6th choir and/or band performances. Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, teaching strategies, learning technology integration, and special education best practices through Access for All. Experience Prior classroom experience teaching K-6 students in diverse settings; experience with Exceptional Education students is a plus. Demonstrated success in curriculum development across multiple subject areas including music, literacy education, math integration and science. Strong understanding of childhood development principles and effective classroom management techniques. Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs to adapt instruction accordingly. Familiarity with LMS platforms for lesson planning, student assessment tracking, and parent communication. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures related to arts education is advantageous. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators. Pay:
$3,500.00 - $6,000.00 per month
