Job Description

About UVAA Utah Vocal Arts Academy is a growing vocal training institution offering structured, high-level vocal development rooted in the Italian tradition. We serve singers across styles—from classical and opera to musical theatre and contemporary—through a unified technical approach. We are expanding our faculty and seeking skilled, reliable voice teachers who are not only strong musicians and communicators, but who are also interested in refining their teaching through a cohesive, proven methodology. The Role This is a flexible part-time teaching position with opportunities to grow within a structured academy model. Teachers will work with students across a range of levels and styles while being supported through training in the UVAA teaching approach. This role is ideal for singers/teachers who value both artistic excellence and ongoing development as educators. What You'll Do Teach private voice lessons to students of varying ages and levels in person and online Communicate clearly and professionally with students and parents Support student growth through consistent, structured instruction Participate in studio activities such as recitals, masterclasses, and evaluations Apply and implement the UVAA training approach in lessons Our Teaching Model All instructors at UVAA are trained in a unified technical approach developed by Artistic Director Dr. Isaac Hurtado. This ensures consistency and high standards across the academy. Teachers are not expected to arrive already trained in this system. However, they must be open to learning and applying a structured vocal method, willing to receive ongoing training, and interested in developing as both singers and teachers. This is a collaborative, growth-oriented teaching environment—not an independent studio within a studio. Qualifications We are looking for teachers who: Are strong, healthy singers with demonstrated vocal ability Have performing experience (professional or high-level community) Are excellent communicators and reliable professionals Demonstrate vocal expertise in either classical or contemporary styles, or both Are organized and consistent in their teaching Preferred (but not required): Degree in music, vocal performance, or theatre Prior teaching experience
